MATCH IT Act Introduced in the Senate

AHIMA is thrilled to announce that today, the MATCH IT Act was introduced in the US Senate! Led by Senators Mark Warner (D-VA) and Jim Banks (R-IN), this bill is the companion to HR 2002, previously introduced in the US House of Representatives.

The MATCH IT Act would improve patient matching by standardizing how we measure patient match rates and how demographic data is captured in patients’ health records. This bill is a vital part of addressing patient misidentification within the healthcare ecosystem.
