Friends, we are so excited about the way things are coming together to hand off the shop, in terms of getting the team together and dreaming about how our beloved Speakeasy could grow! If there's one thing we've learned during this process, it's that when we have a need, we HAVE to ask - no matter how uncomfortable or big it is. Every time we put out a Big Ask, the Universe has always answered in Big Ways, and pretty much always at the last minute in a way that feels nothing short of miraculous.

Right now, we've got a wonderful Project Leader and a solid team of people who are ready and excited to support her in taking on the project. We've got funds in place for several months, and new ways to ensure sustainability going forward in the works. We've got folks coming with their fresh ideas for more offerings and community involvement. It's BEAUTIFUL.

There's just one essential piece of the puzzle that we haven't found yet: someone local to be named on the shop lease and with the nonprofit who sponsors the project. 

If you’ve been looking for a way to join us in the work we’ve been doing, maybe this is the thing for you. Maybe you’re reading this and feel a little ping from the Universe. If you have more questions (and frankly, we’d be really surprised and maybe a little suspicious if you didn’t), please reach out to us to start the conversation as soon as possible to see if this is a good fit!

We're so excited to (informally) announce that THE SHOP WILL GO ON - we have a team of beautiful humans to take the lead! We'll make a formal introduction post soon - and we cannot wait for you to meet them in person next week!

That said, on Friday we'll be closed to work behind the scenes on the shop transition, and on Saturday we (Grahame + Kati) will be in the shop for the last time. One of our favorite things about doing this for the past 5 years has been knowing YOU, so we'd love to see you one last time before we move! Come through and say goodbye!

Have you been dreaming of being a professional thrifter or shop owner or want to run a nonprofit project? We'd like to give the shop to an individual/group/org who would want to take on this project as it is, evolve it into something else, merge it with another project... or some other path forward that we haven't thought of. We're moving and won't be able to lead this project anymore, so we're putting it out into the Universe to see what happens!
