We prioritize emotional and physical well-being, provide compassionate, high-quality care, and give pets the time they need to heal and become their best selves. Pet Haven is a 501c3 foster-based rescue focused locally to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts,
and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond. The pets we help come from local shelters and municipalities all over the state of Minnesota, many at risk of euthanasia due to shelter stress, behavior or over crowding. We also help Minnesota pet owners in crisis, offering surrender services when no other alternative is possible. We also have long standing partnerships with Minnesota Indigenous Nations assisting to bring dogs and cats in need of help into foster care and eventually adopted. We do not get pets from breeder swap meets nor breeder cast offs. We value excellence in service and care, community, integrity, innovation, perseverance, compassion and being a rewarding place to volunteer. We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat is family. They live with a foster family until they find their forever homes. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior rehabilitation, and supplies. Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat. Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care, and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
