In 2022, a single funding request helped spark lasting change.

With support from Saidiana, a group of women purchased an egg incubator, allowing them to hatch and raise their own chicks. What started as a small investment grew into a sustainable source of income, with healthy chickens sold at local markets to support their families. Saidiana recognizes the great entrepreneurial spirit of the women of The Democratic Republic of Congo. Small grants are the fuel for this spirit, allowing these women to put their business dreams into action. Saidiana’s microgrants enable Congolese women, previously not served by other lending or grant-making organizations, the ability to start new businesses or enhance existing ones.

Through the financial support of our grant-giving model, these women now how the economic freedom to use their skills to earn money to feed and clothe their children. Sadiana works to uphold the standard of building long-lasting sustainable businesses, promoting economic stability for future generations to come.

Limited access to secondary education, early marriage, and high rates of unplanned pregnancy make it difficult for many young women to continue their education and pursue the futures they envision.

Saidiana provide grants to support small groups of women in Lubumbashi and the surrounding area who will use the money to put their talents and business acumen into action. The funding is intended to enable them to start new businesses or enhance existing ones and lead to sustainable livelihoods. We deliberately serve impoverished individuals with drive and dreams who are not served by other lending or grant-making organizations.

Thanks to your generous support, the pig breeding project is thriving. We’re excited to share photos of the newest arrivals: healthy baby pigs!

Your donations helped complete the construction of the pig pens, creating a safe and sustainable environment for the pigs. Funding also covered veterinary visits, giving the team access to expert guidance on nutrition, care, and the essential vitamins needed for healthy pig growth.

These improvements are laying the foundation for a self-sustaining income source for the women, empowering them to support their families and invest back into their communities.
