FINAL REMINDER: Claim your CEUS by Sunday! Optimal Outcomes: Perinatal, Reproductive & Sexual Health Conference

Did you attend the live 2026 Optimal Outcomes: Perinatal, Reproductive, and Sexual Health Conference or purchase a virtual access ticket? Remember that you have until THIS SUNDAY June 7, to complete the evaluation form and receive your CEU certificate. You will not be able to access your CEU Certificate after this date!

Please complete the in-person evaluation form if you attended the conference in-person and complete the virtual evaluation form once you have watched the remaining sessions virtually. Both forms will redirect you to your conference CEU Certificate upon completion.

To access conference materials and evaluation forms/CEU certificate please check you email in-box for an email that arrived yesterday June 3rd (also sent on 3/31/26) from [email protected] for the link and code to access the virtual content to claim CEUS!

For those in the Twin Cities metro area, please enjoy a free session of your choice of massage, craniosacral therapy, Arvigo Maya Abdominal therapy, pelvic steaming, castor packs, cupping, acupressure or other integrative care options with The Oshun Center for Intercultural Healing, located inside the Family Tree Clinic building in Minneapolis.

It's Black Maternal Health Week and Black maternal health matters!

Let's talk about the facts!

Did you know:

🚩The maternal mortality rate for non-Hispanic Black women is nearly 3.5 times the rate for non-Hispanic White women

🚩 Maternal deaths decreased from 2022 to 2023 for all racial/ethnic groups except for Black women

🚩 The rate of preterm birth among Black women is about
1.5 times higher than the rate of preterm birth among white or Hispanic women

🚩 Black women have the highest prevalence of preeclampsia and eclampsia, experiencing these disorders at rates five times higher than their white counterparts

🚩 Approximately 20% of women report experiencing mistreatment during maternity care, with women of color disproportionately affected. 30% of Black women, 29% of Hispanic women, and 27% of multiracial women reported mistreatment, according to a 2023 CDC report.

📣Research shows that Black perinatal providers are uniquely equipped to provide
culturally congruent care that improves maternal and infant health outcomes among
Black women and birthing people.

Black Maternal Health Week 2026 starts tomorrow! Support our colleagues of color!

We acknowledge the maternal health outcomes disparities for our patients of color and strive to improve them across the state.

We recognize that Black perinatal providers are uniquely equipped to provide culturally congruent care that improves maternal and infant health outcomes among Black women and birthing people, and we recognize that Minnesota needs a stronger, more culturally diverse and culturally congruent perinatal healthcare workforce to improve Black maternal health in our state.

We appreciate the hard work and dedication our colleagues of color provide for the people and families they serve, often caring for patients and families disproportionately affected by systemic racism, and facing higher risks of experiencing poor health outcomes. Again this year, we’re showing our support of our perinatal providers of color by providing a free bodywork session for Minnesota midwives, student midwives and obstetricians of color in celebration of Black Maternal Health Week!

Please consider chipping in to help provide a bodywork session for a colleague of color by making a donation to the Black Bodywork Fund today. All donations will help cover the cost of a massage (or other therapy) for midwifery/OB providers of color at the Oshun Center for Intercultural Healing or at another location for those outside the Twin Cities metro area.
