Minneapolis (Downtown) Kiwanis Club Come join us at a meeting or volunteer at one of our service projects!

The Minneapolis Downtown Kiwanis Club aims to participate in at least one service project each month. Past projects include: preparing and serving dinner to kids in the Cool Youth After School Program at Jabbok Family Services in Minneapolis, packaging meals for Kids Against Hunger, delivering meals through Open Arms to the terminally ill, sending care packages to U.S. Soldiers stationed overseas, and making Valentines and blankets for Veterans at the Minneapolis Veterans Home.

She has been a student leader at Roosevelt throughout high school such as being a Student Ambassador and in National Honor Society. Congratulations to 2021 South High School Scholarship Recipient Ayan Abdalle who graduated on Wednesday, June 9. Ayan plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. She is exploring her options for a career and has already participated in a number of internships that have exposed her to a variety of options including interning for Ameriprise, Youthprise, CPED, and the Minnesota Public Housing Authority. Monaea plans to attend Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and major in political science and minor in dance (a performance art that she is very passionate about and has dedicated many hours to).
