August 6, 2026, is National Paralegal Day! ⚖️✨

honors paralegals and celebrates their excellence and professionalism.

What is the difference between a paralegal and a legal assistant? Paralegals hold degrees, certifications, or specialized legal knowledge that allows them to conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and bill clients for hours worked. Legal assistants, on the other hand, perform essential administrative tasks like scheduling appointments, tracking important dates, and proofreading, and they do not bill clients for their time.

Both roles are absolutely essential to delivering top-tier legal services. Tag the amazing paralegals who support your team!

In celebration of National Paralegal Day, NFPA, IPMA, American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE), American Bar Association, Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System, and NALA, will host programs highlighting the profession, its continued evolution, and the contributions of paralegals and allied legal professionals. Honoring Excellence of the Legal Profession! ⚖️✨

On August 6, we celebrate paralegals, the backbone of the legal profession! While attorneys focus on giving legal advice, developing case strategy, and advocating in court, paralegals work tirelessly behind the scenes—drafting documents, conducting research, and keeping matters running seamlessly.

Together, paralegals and attorneys collaborate as two parts of the high-performing teams that drive successful outcomes.

To all the paralegals: thank you for your dedication, skill, and professionalism! 👏🎉
