Our chapter wide program, Black Youth with Stethoscopes, led by Mother has been heralded as an Outstanding Children’s Activity for the 2025-2026 program year.

This program was inclusive, hands on, STEM based, and interactive. The kids really enjoyed themselves and created so many core memories as they visited the various stations.

We would be remiss if we didn’t talk about the other nominated programs, which were also amazing.

Music is Art! Homies in Harmony
Through Homies in Harmony with the beloved Auntie Jayanthi, children will explore the foundations of music and rhythm in a culturally rich and developmentally appropriate way. This fun-filled session will serve as an educational experience with a STEAM focus on music-encouraging cognitive development, coordination and emotional expression.

Survivor Skills
Participants will explore shelter engineering, fire science, water purification, and the Rule of Three-while applying concepts from math, biology, physics, and more. This immersive experience builds self-reliance, critical thinking, and confidence in an engaging outdoor setting. A survival-themed book tie-in adds a literary layer, making learning both fun and meaningful.

Mock Trial
Through structured role-play and guided scenarios, participants will collaborate in teams to analyze complex issues, construct arguments, and present their positions in a mock courtroom. Teens will practice leadership competencies, strengthen their ability to think critically, speak effectively, resolve conflicts peacefully, and lead with integrity.

Which program was your favorite? Vote and tell us why in the comments.

Mother Cheryl embodies everything this award is about, and we are better for her leadership, love, and warmth. We will certainly miss her presence as she graduates on to Associatesville.

We had the distinct pleasure of welcoming 13 new mommas into our Jack and Jill City of Lakes sisterhood.

We are so excited to love on them, their children, and families and make an even bigger impact.

Our initiation and May planning session was a huge success, and we feel energized and equipped with great program ideas.

Thanks ladies for all that you do to make us great.

We’ve had a busy but impactful few weeks of programming as we round out this year.

Our joint MN Legislative Day with was especially insightful as Mother Simone hosted a panel of legislators to discuss everything from defining words like “bill” and “legislature,” to talks about improving the lives of black Minnesotans through policy change, and discussing getting into public office.

Fellow Jack and Jill Mom and Chief Narrative Officer of the , MN State Senator , St. Paul Councilmember , Ramsey County Commissioner .moran, and Ramsey County District 3 Commissioner made the event memorable with their presence and wisdom.

Thank you so much to the legislators and leaders who gave their time to be with us, our committee chairs, Mothers Tiffany Knox and Simone Hardamon Jones, as well as our fearless leaders, Marietsa and Megan. A final thank you goes out to Benny Roberts, Executive Director of the historic and sacred for hosting us.
