Our chapter wide program, Black Youth with Stethoscopes, led by Mother has been heralded as an Outstanding Children’s Activity for the 2025-2026 program year.
This program was inclusive, hands on, STEM based, and interactive. The kids really enjoyed themselves and created so many core memories as they visited the various stations.
We would be remiss if we didn’t talk about the other nominated programs, which were also amazing.
Music is Art! Homies in Harmony
Through Homies in Harmony with the beloved Auntie Jayanthi, children will explore the foundations of music and rhythm in a culturally rich and developmentally appropriate way. This fun-filled session will serve as an educational experience with a STEAM focus on music-encouraging cognitive development, coordination and emotional expression.
Survivor Skills
Participants will explore shelter engineering, fire science, water purification, and the Rule of Three-while applying concepts from math, biology, physics, and more. This immersive experience builds self-reliance, critical thinking, and confidence in an engaging outdoor setting. A survival-themed book tie-in adds a literary layer, making learning both fun and meaningful.
Mock Trial
Through structured role-play and guided scenarios, participants will collaborate in teams to analyze complex issues, construct arguments, and present their positions in a mock courtroom. Teens will practice leadership competencies, strengthen their ability to think critically, speak effectively, resolve conflicts peacefully, and lead with integrity.
