We're shining the SGP Artist Spotlight today on two dance community powerhouses, In/During Her Absence's Dramaturg Laurie Van Wieren and our Choreographer Jennifer Glaws. Both jumped fearlessly into helping us figure out how this circus-dance-theater world would come together. I told you this creative team was stellar! We open tomorrow night and run through Sunday. Did you know that in addition to circus elements, In/During Her Absence features two beautiful dance artists in our ensemble? Introducing Alys Ayumi Ogura and Christine Maginnis!

In addition to working with us, Alys Ayumi Ogura currently dances for Sarah LaRose-Holland's Kinetic Evolutions Dance Company, and many other independent artists in the Twin Cities.

Christine Maginnis has worked within the Twin Cities dance and theater community for over 3 decades. She is an honored recipient of a McKnight Fellowship for Dancers (2001) and a Sage Award for Outstanding Performer (2016).

We can't wait to share their work with you!

Today's SunsetGun Artist Spotlight is Russell Harris: In addition to aerial performances, In/During Her Absence (September 14-16) also features ground circus elements, thanks to the uber talented Russell Harris. A Twin-Cities based flying trapeze/circus arts instructor and performer, Russell brings a beautiful dose of circus magic to our ensemble. We're incredibly lucky to have him.

Today's In/During Her Absence Artist Spotlight is Katie Kimball (co-ceator and performer): Katie is not only a dynamite aerialist, but has owned and operated Twin Cities Trapeze Center for the past 5 years. If you want to catch her in action before our In/During Her Absence premiere head over to Circus in the Park 2018 Free Public Show! this Sunday where she'll be performing with her trapeze duo DoubleJinx Trapeze. SEEKING INTERVIEW PARTICIPANTS:

Would anyone be interested in helping SGP make their next show? I'm currently seeking individuals willing to be interviewed for our next project exploring the subject of Grief. Whether it's the sudden loss of a loved one, a job, a marriage, a home, or another time in your life where it feels like the rug has been ripped out from under you; I want to know how you moved through the dark, messy, hard stuff.

Do you have an experience you'd like to share or know someone who may have a story to tell? If so please send an email to [email protected] and I can provide further details. Interviews can be conducted in person in the Twin Cities or via phone/skype.

Give to the Max 2016 is happening in a big way y'all! I LOVE seeing so many important non-profits gather financial support today including SunsetGun (https://www.givemn.org/fundraiser/Sunset-Gun-Productions) and I LOVE having the opportunity to be able to put a little money where my mouth is. So many of us are donating through Givemn.org that we broke the site! Don't worry a scaled back version is still up and running, just not with all the bells and whistles. Keep it coming!
