Blue skies and birdsong aplenty today here in our lovely village on the edge of the Black Forest. Walking home from town midday, I passed by the art studio in our apartment building and saw a woman sitting on the stone steps that lead up and around to our side. She was a picture of contentment as she gazed at a delicate purple flower and endeavored to capture its beautiful essence on her canvas.

"Entschuldigung," I whispered as I tiptoed around her.

"No problem," she responded, exuding oneness with nature.

As I made my way up the rest of the stairs, I heard "Oh man! OHHHH MAAAAANNN! You stepped on my flower! The very one I was painting! Destroyed!"

In coal-in-the-stocking news, I (yup, Jeff) just got a speeding ticket in the mail, clocked at almost twice the speed limit - 😳 - 11 mph in a 6mph school-zone. At night. Nary a child in sight.
(11mph=18kph; 6mph=10kph)
