Public Policy

SCCA works to represent our Seward business and nonprofit community. Working together we can speak as a united voice to elected and government officials. SCCA has worked on the following issues:
•property taxes
•City policies
•infrastructure improvements
•community planning
•crime prevention
•truck parking
•solar & energy programs


Philanthropy and Community Engagement


SCCA believes in contributing to the greater good in the community. SCCA often facilitates contributions from individual businesses to support important neighborhood causes. SCCA directly supports neighborhood groups and events, such as King’s Fair, the Winter Frolic, and Franklin Open Streets.

Earth Day in Seward is getting competitive!

On Wednesday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., we’re inviting Seward businesses to clean up outside their business area. Grab your team, head out for a bit, and pick up what you can.

Email or DM on social us a photo of everything you accumulated. We’ll be sharing submissions on our social media story throughout the day.

The business that collects the most trash wins a $50 gift card to Pizza Lucé for the whole crew!!

Seward Co-op 50th Anniversary Block Party at Open Streets

Join us for a block party celebrating 50 years of Seward Community Co-op! We’re partnering with Open Streets Franklin to bring music, food, and fun to Franklin Avenue between 25th and 26th Ave. We’ll have a Community Foods fair, live music curated by KRSM - 98.9 FM, live screenprinting, a Seward Co-op Staff art fair, a bounce house for the kiddos, and more!

Today is the LAST day to apply for Minnesota Main Street COVID Relief Grants! This is an important program that will prioritize small, locally-owned businesses that have not yet received assistance, especially those with BIPOC and/or women owners. If your business experienced any hardship due to COVID these grants are for you as long as you have under 200 employees. If you've applied or have questions, please comment below to let us know!
