Each May, our nation comes together to honor the courage, sacrifice and dedication of law enforcement officers. Originally established by presidential proclamation President John F. Kennedy in 1962, National Police Week includes Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th and a week of observances recognizing officers who given their lives in the line of duty, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our communities with dedication and courage. Thank you for your continued service and dedication to our communities!

Observed annually on May 13th, Children of Fallen Patriots Day honors the children who lost a parent in military conflict, raising awareness of their sacrifices. The day focuses on supporting "Gold Star scholars" through educational funding and counseling, honoring the legacy of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Armed Forces Week (mid-May) is a dedicated time to honor the service and sacrifice of all U.S. military members—active duty, Reserve, and National Guard across all six branches. It culminates in Armed Forces Day on the third Saturday of May, featuring parades, community events, and displays of military strength.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day, observed annually on the Friday before Mother’s Day, honors the sacrifices, resilience, and crucial support of military spouses. Established by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, this day recognizes those who manage households, careers, and families, serving as the "backbone" of military readiness.

VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, is celebrated on May 8 (and May 9 in some nations) to mark the formal, unconditional surrender of N**i Germany in 1945, ending nearly six years of World War II in Europe. It commemorates the end of fighting, the liberation of occupied countries, and the fall of the N**i regime.
