I'm hearing some grumbling out there about the tentative agreement. Please remember that when you are in negotiations they are bargaining for the best possible contract.
I've sat on the negotiations team many times; we have never gotten everything we've asked for. The team works very hard to reach the goals they've set but are realistic about the possible outcome knowing there are things that will have to be given up by both sides. That is just how it works. I believe we will get more this time, because of the tremendous support of the parents, community, solidarity among all.
Do not look at only one area of the contract agreement. Look at the whole picture. Some things may be great, some okay and some not alright. Overall, does it provide more of what we were asking for? Go to the meetings and ask your questions; listen to the explanations and facts of how this can be a good contract before you make your mind up.
Thank the negotiators. They've put in many long days and nights working on getting this contract to a point of being able to vote on it
