**FOUND DOG**

Do you recognize me? Some very nice people on Mac Street in the City of Elko New Market let me inside out of the rain when I was standing on their front porch whining. They have a puppy and I really wanted to play with him. They tried to find my owners but didn’t have any luck and I don’t have a collar on. I was having a lot of fun at their house but they said my family is probably really missing me so they called the nice lady cop and she came and gave me a ride to the police department and took some pictures to help my family find me. I hung out with her for a while and we played until another guy came and got me, he’s with Critter Getters. He said he will take care of me until my family finds me. So, I was wondering, can you help me find my way home? I am an unaltered male German Shorthair, likely purebred and probably about 2yrs old.

If you’re my family call Critter Getters at (507) 248-3155 and bust me out of jail 

PS. I am very well trained and quite the sweetheart if I do say so myself.

Iraq did not kill them, Afghanistan did not kill them, they didn't step on an IED, they killed themselves! 22 of our veterans die each and every day by their own hands, committing su***de to escape the horrors of war. 8,030 lives every year! That number surpasses the total casualty numbers for both Iraq and Afghanistan, thirteen years of war out done in one year by the vet's own hands!

I cannot bear to sit here and do nothing! These brave men and women left their families and went to fight a war they didn't ask for, on our behalf. I am an old Marine that served in the 1980's, over the past decade I helped build a business and now find myself at a crossroads and want to help veterans.

My vision is to create a non-profit organization which will support a group home for some of these vets. Part of the plan would include the purchase of a farm, where they would live and receive care, counseling and support. We would ask the vets to participate in a service dog training program there and we would provide service dogs for vets that need them.

I am currently working on a couple different avenues to establish a 501 3c organization, it is a long bureaucratic process and I cannot wait another day. We have to do something to help and this is my reason for writing you this letter, to rally support and awareness.

The system is overwhelmed and we cannot rely on the government to help our vets. They are going to get shuffled and redirected until they give up and just unplug from life, either through substance abuse or su***de.

Would you please search your heart and talk to your friends and family about how you can help? We want to hear from you!

Maybe it's a financial donation; maybe you have a resource connection we can benefit from to help establish the group. Please Like our page, Tweet about it, but PLEASE do something to help create awareness and help these Vets that survived hell on Earth only to come home and end their own precious lives. WE NEED YOU and your family and friends! Let's create awareness of this tragedy so we can start driving that number 22 downward to 0! Please give it some thought and effort, it's too easy just to expect someone else to stand up for these men and women who have sacrificed so much to defend you and me.

Now it's our turn!

THE LIFE & DEATH OF CLAY HUNT: In 2011, 28-year-old Marine combat veteran Clay Hunt took his own life. He loved being a Marine and serving his country, and though he had been out of the military for two years when he died, Clay Hunt was a casualty of war.
