Thoughtful article on parenting after loss:

My first daughter, Eliza, was stillborn seven years ago. I thought losing her would destroy me. Seven years later, I can tell you that surviving her loss created the family that we have now. Eliza has two younger sisters who are five and three and just beginning to understand the meaning of “rainb...

Always glad to see major news sources sharing some insight into the perspective of a baby loss parent. This resonated with us and we wanted to share in case it resonated with you as well.

We hope that October, Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness month, was gentle for you. Just a reminder we are still updating the website (facesofloss.com) with stories off loss and putting a face to those stories. If you have lost a baby, it is a great way to connect with others, and to send and receive support as many of the people who submit their story leave contact information. If you know someone who has lost a baby and would like to submit their story, we would be honored to post it. Instructions for doing so can be found on our website.
Because FOL is a volunteer based organization, our primary goal is to keep the website current and to get these stories published. Thank you for your support and understanding.

My husband and I had only been married for 4 months when we found out we were pregnant. We couldn’t have been more thrilled. We were both a little older, I was 32 and he was 37 and we didn’t want to wait too long to start our family. I had the most amazing pregnancy from the start. I had no morning…

We hope that yesterday was gentle for all of you who celebrated Mother's Day for all that it is, was, and should have been. Did you find the day to be easier or harder than you expected? How has Mother's Day changed for you over the years? We'd love to hear your thoughts on the day and the complicated emotions it produces.
And as always, if you want to share your story of loss with us, we'd be honored to publish it on our blog. Submission instructions can be found here: http://facesofloss.com/submit-a-story

By submitting your story, you are telling the world, “I am not ashamed.” Thank you for joining the movement and letting other women know they are not alone.

She recently gave a TEDx talk and the story of the loss of her 5th child, Jonah, is published on our site at Faces of Loss (link below). Back in August we shared a 1-minute trailer piece from Director and Photographer Shawn Lovering Photography about losing his brother Jacob and the impact it has had on his family. Jacob's life has made a lifelong impact on him and he shares that here. This piece about silent suffering is now a complete 15-minute video. https://vimeo.com/194173778

In spring of 2016, I set out to create a short piece surrounding my mother’s experience with pregnancy and infant loss. I wanted to tell her story, share her…
