Minnesota small businesses are continuing to recover after Operation Metro Surge—and community support is helping them move forward. Since we launched the Economic Response Fund in February, $4 million in grants (and counting!) has reached more than 900 businesses across the state, helping cover payroll, rent, utilities, inventory, and other urgent expenses.
From salons and restaurants to health clinics and neighborhood shops, these grants are helping businesses regain their footing and continue powering Minnesota’s economy.
As one business owner shared, “That support allowed us to continue serving our local community and avoid making even more difficult decisions during a time of great uncertainty.”
We’re deeply grateful to the corporate leaders and individual donors who acted quickly to support this work, and encouraged to see more companies recognizing the urgency and scale of the continuing need.
Our sincere thanks, too, to the nonprofit partners working directly with small businesses to distribute these grants: Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Lake Street Mpls, LEDC-MN, African Development Center, Neighborhood Development Center, PFund Foundation, and West Bank Minneapolis.
