Man-Up Club primarily focuses on academic discipline, civic responsibility, life skills, and social skills. The Man
Up prepares young men for post-high school readiness, who are seeking college degrees and career preparation for specific job/trade school. The Man-Up Club is offered as a partnering agent to assist community organizations, churches, and the public school systems retention efforts and most critically the academic subsistence of at-risk, socially disadvantaged African-American male students. Today, the program has broadened to serve not only high school at-risk males, but also middle school. Historically, the roots of the Man-Up Club, was founded in the fall of 2011 by Korey S. who served as student advocate and mentor-leader of more than 500 African-American students. The Man up Club offers a spiritual developement via charismatic bible study and worship sessions in a urban context.
