There are a variety of tasks and roles at Buckthorn Removal events, from pruning buckthorn to hauling cut buckthorn to gathering seed or picking up trash.

Help us reduce buckthorn dominance in Minnehaha Park natural areas and its harmful effects on biodiversity and erosion.

We’re looking forward to gathering seed and stripping buckthorn 6-8 pm today. It’s rewarding (and cooler) to work at Minnehaha Park near the creek, which babbles in the breeze. We hope to see you there! If you can’t make it tonight, join us Saturday morning, which will be a “Top 10” Day!

Join us in the park on Saturday, August 15, from 10am-12pm for restoration in the lower glen by the creek. We’ll be pruning buckthorn resprouts and gathering black-seeded ricegrass seed.

NO BUCKTHORN tonight. It’s looking a little like the start of fall, with this lovely Golden Alexander displaying fall color! Buckthorn Slayers won’t be in the park tonight, but staying cool instead. Maybe a dip in the creek?
