Empowerment through election: the power of casting a vote
Lead by Sammy Caldwell & Lilli Ambort
On the 100th year anniversary of the 19th amendment, women are running for office and winning at record rates. But despite what is acknowledged in history class, not all women were given the right to vote in 1920. Even today, rampant voter suppression threatens the integrity of universal suffrage, and we need you to help make change. Join us for a deep dive into the issues of voting rights and voter suppression, equality, women winning, and making change (voting and beyond).

..

Equality for all womxn: does it exist?
Lead by Jaelah Lymon & Destiny Franks
We will be leading a workshop to discuss what is needed for the equality and equity of women. As women we can not thrive unless we are all validated, heard, and uplifted. There can not be equality for women if we do not have equity. We will dive into the intersections of race, s*x, and gender while emphasizing the need for black feminism. By addressing the unique struggles that women of color go through in parallel to the experiences of white women, we can truly create an open dialogue that ensures equality for all women.
