Our longtime audience members will surely remember Shirley Santoro, who served as concert master for well over forty years. You may not know that she was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis dating all the way back to our inaugural concert in 1953! She and her husband Michael retired from the orchestra several years ago, but have remained strong supporters and have attended many of our concerts. Upon the sad news of her passing earlier this month, we have decided to dedicate our upcoming concert to her memory.

When Shirley and Michael retired from the orchestra, they established the Santoro Music Fund dedicated to supporting the rental and purchase of music parts for the orchestra. With that in mind, should you be moved to honor Shirley’s memory, contributing to the orchestra with a designation to the Santoro Music Fund would be a perfect way to do so.
