📚Living in the Cracks: CISC’s Colloquium on the World’s Education Systems Series 2026

🎉 We are excited to announce that the CISC’s Colloquium On The World’s Education Systems Series is back for 2026! 🎉

This year, we are inviting proposals, reviewers, and volunteers to join us in making this event a vibrant and engaging platform for knowledge exchange.

The Colloquium On The World’s Education Systems Series is a dynamic initiative aimed at fostering collaborative knowledge co-creation within our community.

This event provides an opportunity for students to present their research and insights on educational systems from around the world, spanning all educational fields and disciplines.

✨The Colloquium is planned to be held on April 25, 2026, Bruininks Hall - Room 114 ✨

After the Colloquium, we encourage all the presenters to submit their work to the World’s Education Journal by CISC. We also plan to host a writing retreat in May. ✍️Stay tuned!

Mindful Munch: A Mental Health Potluck for International Students

This event is designed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where international students at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), University of Minnesota, can come together to share food, stories, and strategies for maintaining good mental health. The combination of a potluck-style meal and mental health activities will foster a sense of community and provide practical support for students.

🎉 Meet the Co-Director of Programming: Zhansaya Amankulova 🎉

Hello all 🌍 My name is Zhansaya Amankulova, and I’m a first-year Master’s student in Comparative and International Development Education. I also work as a Graduate Assistant with CEHD International Initiatives, supporting program development and coordination. I’m honored to serve as Co-Director of Programming for CISC, and I’m excited to help create meaningful spaces for international students to connect, reflect, and thrive👥. My academic interests focus on educational foreign policy and the politics of education—especially how global dynamics shape learning and equity across borders. My name is Ainur Jumagaliyeva, and I am a PhD student in Comparative and International Development Education. My research focuses on internationalization in higher education, gender and equity, and the experiences of student-parents navigating academic life. As a former student affairs practitioner, I am passionate about building supportive environments for international students, and I am excited to get to know you👏! In the coming academic year, we have many exciting opportunities designed to help you connect with peers, faculty, and staff, and to learn more about resources available to you.🤝 Stay tuned for announcements about workshops, social gatherings, and events.
