I’m so grateful for the life, wisdom, and legacy of Dr. John Perkins, who passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by love, with his wife of 75 years, Vera Mae, faithfully by his side.

His life inspired me to believe that unity in the Body of Christ is an imperative and a worthwhile kingdom pursuit. That relentless pursuit of justice and reconciliation cost him dearly throughout his earthly days.

Though I am deeply grieved by his loss on this side of glory, I do not do so without hope. His passionate love for Jesus, and Jesus’ love for him, is now being marvelously and spectacularly unfolded in His presence.

Please join me in praying for the entire Perkins family.

We still have a few openings for this year's Flourishing Together Cohort. If you'd like to learn more about it, we have a vision gathering tomorrow night. Dinner is included!

Flourishing Together is a cross-racial, cross-church, and cross-community cohort designed to encourage and connect leaders while strengthening their capacity to disciple congregations toward oneness in Christ amid increasingly polarizing influences.

Have we appropriately weighed the full measure of our dishonor to God by trusting worldly systems while adopting and imitating their conduct instead of Jesus?

"This is not just a political issue, it's a discipleship issue." A friend recently wrote this, and I wholeheartedly concur.

Discipleship is always happening; how and by whom we choose to be discipled is for us to steward. Are you weary of politically induced discipleship? Is the practice of selective theology, where parts of the Bible are chosen to affirm opinions, but other passages are ignored because they are disruptive, troubling you? Are there ways to holistically apply the Sacred Text to life in our current context?

If you're looking for a scripturally rooted, Gospel-fueled, and hope-aimed discipleship community to learn how to cultivate oneness and unity in the midst of such divisive times, Flourishing Together '26 may be for you.

I'm honored to be sharing at the upcoming Mosaix' National Multiethnic Church Conference.

My Seminar: The Anatomy of Division and the Journey to Harmony

Divided: How we get there and what to do about it! We’ll examine the underlying characteristics that lead to division through a biblical narrative, followed by an exploration of a practical, scripturally rooted, gospel-fueled, and hope-aimed model of communal discipleship that cultivates racial harmony and fosters mutual flourishing. (Rom 12:16)

Every three years, leaders from across the nation and around the world gather to envision, equip, and encourage the future of the multiethnic church. This November 11-13, the 6th National Mosaix Conference comes to Dallas, TX, and I'm excited to be one of ~100 speakers at the event. With 1,000+ ministry leaders expected, together we’ll lean into relational connections, engage in critical conversations, discuss proven strategies, and share inspiring stories—all for the sake of the Gospel. Saturday, May 3rd, marked our first Racial Harmony workshop. It was a wonderful time with Jesus followers earnestly striving to live in unity.

Ephesians 4:1–6 (NIV) As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Participant quote: “To be able to get close to people who were very different than me in a short time was an incredible model of what can happen. This is by far the best model I’ve seen of moving toward racial harmony. Your thoughtfulness about the content, the organization, and the structure of the day was what made it all work.”

Special thanks to Rev. Richard H. Coleman, Dr. Courtney Walton, and Pastor Mike Ashley for their insightful wisdom and efforts in making it happen!

Learning about the influence of culture has profoundly expanded my understanding of how people relate to one another and what motivates them. This knowledge helps cultivate better relationships, reduce relational tension, and foster greater collaboration. It's a joy when our Cultural Agility Workshops help businesses, nonprofits, and churches seeking to accelerate cohesion among their organizations.

Thanks to KnowledgeWorkx for unlocking these insights and to VBG Creative Agency for putting together the video.

Culture shapes how we see the world—but most of us are unaware of just how deeply it influences our decisions, relationships, and assumptions. In this video,...
