We’re excited to announce that Choose Ottawa County has established an Organization Fund with the Ottawa County Community Foundation!

Choose Ottawa County plays a vital role in strengthening our communities by promoting economic growth, supporting local businesses, and addressing one of our region’s most important needs which is quality, affordable housing. Their work helps create a thriving, sustainable future where families can live, work, and put down roots right here in Ottawa County.

The numbers for Match Month 2026 are finalized, and what an incredible month it was! Because of the generosity of our donors, we didn’t just meet our goal… we exceeded it. Together, we are creating meaningful, lasting impact across Ottawa County.

Here’s what you made possible:

• $100,616.68 raised (surpassing our $100,000 goal!)
• $150,308 matched thanks to the Dane G. Hansen Foundation & Patterson Family Foundation
• $250,942.68 total impact invested right back into our communities

• 120 total donations
– 98 individuals
– 22 businesses

• 16 new donors joined in making a difference

• $1,150.66 raised by our local students through the Change Challenge

Owen Kindall is a true behind-the-scenes difference maker in Ottawa County. From helping launch Choose Ottawa County to improving local ball fields and supporting efforts like the MHS Alumni Reunion, Owen plays a key role in bringing people together and getting things done. He has a gift for rallying volunteers and stepping in wherever help is needed.

Much of what Owen does goes unseen, but his impact is felt across the community. With the support of his family working alongside him, Owen continues to quietly serve, always willing to lend a hand and make Ottawa County a better place.

Just like the trees outside are blooming, so is our DONOR TREE! Look at all the generosity blooming in Ottawa County. As we head into the final days of the month, here is our update. What do you think Ottawa County...do we have another $15,000 in us before the end of March?! I bet we do! Tag your friends if you see their name on the tree.
