GRANT SPOTLIGHT on one of our Spring 2026 recipients. The MGS Cub Backers are a group of parents who serve teachers, students, and families at Minneapolis Grade School. Their fundraising efforts the last year made it possible to add new equipment to the playground, and OCCF is proud to be part of that.

Our FALL GRANT CYCLE is currently accepting applications until 11:59pm on October 1st. Go to our website to learn more and apply ➡ https://ottawacountycf.org/grants/

Gregg Tanzer is the kind of neighbor who is always willing to lend a hand. Whether it’s mowing a yard for someone who may not be able to do it themselves or simply being there when someone needs help, Gregg has made a difference through countless acts of kindness and generosity.

After working for USD 240 for many years, Gregg has become a familiar and valued part of the community. He’s even earned a special reputation around Halloween, when his house is a favorite stop thanks to his tradition of handing out full-size candy bars!

Gregg’s willingness to help others, be a good neighbor, and give back in ways both big and small is what community citizenship is all about. We are proud to recognize Gregg Tanzer as a Community Citizenship Award recipient. Congratulations, Gregg, and thank you for helping make Ottawa County a great place to call home!

Our September Citizenship winner will be a STUDENT in honor of back-to-school. So if you know of a student of any age who goes above and beyond to make Ottawa County a better place to call home, go to our website and nominate them. https://ottawacountycf.org/about-us/news/ottawa-county-citizenship-award/
