Northside Juneteenth Weekend Celebration

A series of Juneteenth Celebrations the weekend leading up to Juneteenth on the Northside of MPLS.

For the past six years, the Northside Juneteenth Celebration has proudly honored the Juneteenth holiday with a vibrant, community-centered event in North Minneapolis. What began in 2020 as a single-day celebration on the Saturday before Juneteenth with a number of partners has grown into a full weekend of festivities since 2022. Rooted in culture, joy, and togetherness, this annual gathering uplifts the legacy of Black freedom, resilience, and excellence—right here in the heart of our community.

Bring the family and kick off the weekend with a free movie night filled with popcorn, hot dogs and community.

While Northside Juneteenth will not host our traditional Saturday Family Festival in 2026, we encourage everyone to get out, support, and celebrate with the many incredible Juneteenth events happening throughout Minneapolis and beyond.

Join us for one of our favorite traditions featuring free food, free swimming for all, live music from 89.9 KMOJ "THE PEOPLES STATION" and family fun as we close out the weekend together.

This entire celebration is about celebrating OUR STORY. OUR PROGRESS. OUR CULTURE. OUR FUTURE. ✊🏾

On behalf of us at Northside Juneteenth Weekend Celebration, Helping Each other Live Productive and our partners at Talk To Me Nice Productions we want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your time, dedication, and generosity at last weekends Toys for Tots event. We were able to serve over 1,500 children and 450 families this past Saturday.

To those of you that volunteered, you helped create joy, smiles, and lasting holiday memories for so many families.

From our entire team, we hope that each of you had a Merry Christmas and we are wishing you a Happy New Year. We look forward to continuing to serve our community in 2026. ❤️🎄

We are excited to announce that our 1st Annual 2025 Toys for Tots Gift Drive Registration is officially open! We are honored to help bring holiday cheer, joy, and support to families right here in our community this Christmas season. 🌟

Yesterday was absolutely amazing — and that’s still an understatement. Thank you to every participant, partner, volunteer, worker, and supporter who helped make our Meal of Gratitude: Free Community Thanksgiving Meal! a beautiful success!

We planned for 200 guests and served nearly 170 community members. Our hearts are full, and we are truly grateful. We’re already looking forward to next year!
