Hey PhIT Community,

PhIT will be hosting our last meeting of the semester on April 18th, 2023 @ 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm featuring Professor Pam Jacobson PharmD, FCCP. She will be talking about the broad scope of pharmacogenomics (PGx), the role of informatics in PGx, and the clinical decision support system "Go4PGx" that her team is working on. This meeting will be on Zoom only!

We will be hosting a raffle for two $10 gift cards for anyone that attends the meeting. If you want to enter the raffle, please fill out the RSVP here by 4/17/23 and attend the event to qualify!

The PhIT Collaborative is looking for driven, motivated students to join its Executive Board in the 2023-2024 school year!

We have many positions open, including the Collaborative Chair, Event Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Communications Coordinator. We welcome anyone who's interested to learn and work with others. No experience in informatics is needed!

The co-founders of the Pharmacy Informatics Academy will give a lunch lecture on 3/17 (Th) 12:15-1PM to introduce pharmacy informatics topics and what a day in the life of informatics pharmacists looks like. Don't miss out on this excellent learning and networking opportunity! The meeting will be held on Zoom only.

Our MHI/PharmD Student Panel is happening this Friday at 12:15pm on Zoom or in HSEC 2-110 in TC! Be sure to RSVP on z.umn.edu/phitfall21intro if you are interested in coming!

MHI/PharmD students will share their experience with informatics classes/extracurricular activities, and we will also talk about the leadership position that will be open to PD1s-PD2s soon. Be sure to come by if you are interested! There will be FREE chips and chocolate chip cookies!!

Interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and COVID-19 data analysis? The University of Minnesota Interdisciplinary Health Data Competition is a great opportunity for you to engage in the interdisciplinary dialogue on how to use data to address current healthcare challenges!

Students will complete an exploratory analysis of COVID-19-related data to assess health disparities and community impact of COVID-19. Each team must have students from at least 2 different colleges or schools within the University (Twin Cities campus), with a maximum of 5 students per team.

Registration period: 2/17 - 3/3
Competition period: 3/8 (data release) - 3/21 (project submission by 11:59 pm)

Awards:
First Place Team: $4,000
Second Place Team: $2,000
Third Place Team: $1,000

Competition requirements:
1-page Executive Summary, a PowerPoint presentation (max 20 slides) with a voice-over recording (max 20 minutes). Finalists will also virtually present projects to judges.
