🎉 What a GREAT night of Bingo! 🎉

We had such a wonderful turnout for our monthly Bingo last night! There was lots of great food, good friends, and plenty of fun! 🥳

And the prizes? 💰 They ranged from $50 all the way up to $200! 🎉

But the best part is that all proceeds benefit our scholarship program, helping us provide scholarships to students in our three local counties: Orange, Louisa, and Spotsylvania.

Missed this one? No worries! We do Bingo every month, and everyone is welcome!

☀️ Summer Meet & Greet at the Belmont Community Center! 🇺🇸

Join us on August 25 from 6:00–8:00 PM for an evening of community, conversation, and fellowship at the Belmont Community Center.

We are pleased to welcome Congressman Eugene Vindman, U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, who will be available to meet with members of our community, hear your thoughts, and engage in conversation about the issues that matter to you.

This is a great opportunity to meet Congressman Vindman, ask questions, share your ideas, and connect with your neighbors in a relaxed community setting. We encourage everyone to come out and take part in this special evening.

A note about the event: The Belmont Ruritan Club and the Belmont Club of Women are not affiliated with or representatives of any particular political party. The Belmont Community Center is available for public use by individuals and organizations in accordance with the center’s established terms and conditions of use. Last night’s monthly meeting was a tremendous success! The Belmont Ruritans were honored to welcome three guest speakers representing Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs from three of our local school divisions.

Our first speaker was Mr. Bo Bundrick, Director of Career and Technical Education for Louisa County Public Schools. Mr. Bundrick shared exciting details about the new CTE facility currently under construction in Louisa County. The new facility will offer expanded opportunities for students and the community, including programs such as boat and motor repair, as well as adult education courses. The facility is scheduled to open next spring.

Next, we welcomed Ms. Laurie Jamerson, Department Chair at Orange County High School. Ms. Jamerson has been an educator and an active part of the Orange County school system for many years. She spoke about the challenges and needs facing students pursuing career and technical education and shared ways our community may be able to help address needs that are not fully covered through federal and school funding.

Our final speaker was Ms. Sue Venable-Shelton, Director of Career and Technical Education for Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Ms. Venable-Shelton provided an overview of the CTE programs in Spotsylvania County and highlighted their tremendous growth—from approximately 600 students to more than 1,600 students participating in CTE programs. She also explained how Spotsylvania has expanded career exploration into the middle schools, with all seventh-grade students required to take a career pathways course.

It was an informative and productive evening that provided valuable insight into the opportunities, challenges, and needs of students pursuing career and technical education.

To end the evening on a high note, we voted in two new members to the Belmont Ruritans! Please join us in welcoming Adair Rice and Paul Stephens to the Ruritan family. We are excited to have them join us as we continue our commitment to serving and strengthening our local communities.

The Belmont Ruritans are proud to support our local schools and to learn how we can better serve the students who will one day become the future workforce and leaders of our communities.

Come join us at the Belmont Community Center this evening for the monthly meeting. Meeting will start at 6:30. We will have 3 guest speakers rhiaevening from each of the local high schools (Orange, Louisa, and Spotsylvania) career and tech programs. Learn more about the programs offered and how to apply for scholarships offered by the Ruritan Club.
