➑ "Vex IQ Battle Bots" is now "MECHANICAL MAYHEM"
We rebranded the program to more accurately describe all the glorious mayhem associated with our creative games, chaotic arena, and mechanical brilliance built by our students. It's so much more than robots battling that we thought it deserved a new name...Our next Mechanical Mayhem will be...

πŸ€” Ask hard questions to exponentially increase learning.
🧠 This week's Brain Buster for our robotics teams - the goal being to create the most comprehensive (non-AI) answer for points in our House-Cup.

πŸ€” How can we combat internet "brain rot?"
🀯 Enter Brain Busters.
🏠 Our robotics teams learn a lot, but we want to spark curiosity and deep learning beyond the walls of 102 E 1st Street.
πŸ† Every year we run an Harry Potter-style "House Cup" competition for our teams to reward teamwork and problem-solving. New this year are weekly "Brain Buster" challenges where teams earn points as they research questions, going beyond the Google and AI summaries to formulate the most comprehensive answer in their own words.

Dream it. Build it. Battle it. In our 2026 Gladiator Bots summer camp students designed their own robots from scratch to battle the monster bots, battle each other, and play mini-games in our Arena of Mayhem. Relive the hype and all the robot glory with our recap video here.

We'd like to thank everyone that suppored LASER at the Louisa County BOS meeting tonight as we introduced who we are, our vision, and our passion for expanding STEAM education. There's a lot of uncertainty in the world today, but we are certain that your zip code, your income, and your educational affiliation should not be a barrier for kids to learn the necessary advanced technologies of tomorrow today. And for those that attended the meeting, remember, "We Are Here! We Are Here! We Are Here!" 🐘 🌻
