Mineral Wells Center of Life (MWCOL) is a community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in Palo Pinto county. Its mission is to provide support, resources, and opportunities that improve quality of life and promote long-term stability.
MWCOL offers a wide range of programs designed to meet both immediate and ongoing needs within the community. These services include a food pantry, clothing assistance, and access to basic necessities for individuals and families facing hardship. The organization also provides specialized services for unhoused individuals, ensuring they have access to essential resources and support. Through its nourishment program, MWCOL serves hot meals Monday through Thursday, offering consistent, nutritious food to those in need.
In addition to basic needs support, MWCOL focuses on empowering individuals toward self-sufficiency. The center offers job assistance through Texas Workforce Commission, helping individuals find employment and build career skills. GED classes are also available on-site, providing educational opportunities for those looking to complete their high school equivalency.
A key component of MWCOL’s services is its client facilitation support, where staff assist individuals with obtaining and organizing important documentation. This includes help with driver’s licenses (DL), state IDs, Social Security cards, food stamp applications, Social Security benefits, and other government programs, removing common barriers that can prevent individuals from accessing services and employment.
Beyond these programs, MWCOL actively builds strong community connections by hosting events, encouraging volunteerism, and partnering with local churches, businesses, and organizations. Through compassion, practical support, and empowerment-focused services, the Mineral Wells Center of Life serves as a vital resource hub—helping individuals move from crisis toward stability and independence.
