A tribute to Noble 🐾
It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of our sweet Noble. Noble came to us when she was just 8 weeks old. She was trapped on a farm as part of a TNR project. She was one of the lucky ones that came to us when she was young enough to be socialized for adoption. Unfortunately, shortly after intake we realized Noble was having seizures. We got her in with the neurology specialists at the UW vet school where she was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. We were very hopeful that she would grow out of her seizure disorder or that we would be able to manage it with medications. Unfortunately, neither one of these things occurred.
For Noble’s first year of life we were able to manage her seizures quite well. As time passed, the seizures started to occur more regularly and more intensely. We continued to work with the neurology specialists to keep her seizures under control. We added more and more medications which would help a little, but not completely. We got to the point of 6 medications per day, plus another 4 medications every time she had a seizure. Despite all of our efforts, Noble’s seizures continued to worsen. She was having multiple seizures per day that resulted in her falling from places and just being unhappy over all. She started to dread her medication routine even with all the treats and extra pets that came with it.
Last week, after watching Noble have multiple seizures in one day we realized enough was enough. Her quality of life had diminished and we decided the best thing we could do for her was help her cross the rainbow bridge. I know that we did more for Noble than many other rescues or shelters would have. We gave her two years of life where all she knew was love, care and comfort.
Goodbyes are never easy. We enjoyed all the time we had with Noble and will cherish the memories of her. Even though Noble never made it to “adoption day”, she was deeply loved by her foster family. Until we meet again sweet girl. 💕🌈
