I will be putting a tote out at our gate tomorrow (60 Harris rd, mineral bluff ga 30559) to collect donations for those who lost their homes with the devastating flooding. Toiletries, hygiene supplies (soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant), baby wipes, diapers, personal wipes, new socks, blankets, gift cards, ensure, boost, depends, bottled water, any groceries are a few much needed items. We will then take them to either one of the churches, family connection, mccaysville city hall or rec center that's providing shelter for those displaced. Ill call each to see who's lowest on donation so we can help restock them (and i will video it so folks know it's been delivered.. im all about transparency). We suffered major flood in August where we personally were affected and now this one which thankfully only damage we had was half the roof on turkey area destroyed. Folks were being evacuated last night and are still being found. It's almost Thanksgiving. These folks are grateful to be alive but I'm sure pretty upset on losing everything so if we can be a drop off location for them it's how we can help immediately.

Now to see who reads our post, our special visitor yesterday was once again the aflac trainer! 2 more ducks headed to stardom :) I'll give the background stories on Freeman and Izzy tomorrow. Now before someone said we must make alot on them. We dont. And we don't take advantage of anyone because of their status. Adoption fee was still 10 each.

Now with our ducks.. some are on gameday, some are in commercials, some visit college campuses, some are in movies, and some go to Atlanta children's hospital to brighten the kids faces during cancer treatments, surgery recovery etc. They have a couple different duck teams they use in multiple ways, always showing how amazing, and trainable they are. When they come to pick the next potential aflac ducks they do temperament test which is so cool to watch. Ill explain more on that, and provide photos when I tell freeman and ozzys background stories :) you'll love it!!

Rescues closed to folks for a bit. My towns under state of emergency and the roads to get here are impassable. Water systems down but thankfully I've got 3 days worth of water. Heres photos 2 miles or less from us. Please keep our town in your prayers. Search crews are out looking for folks, ga dept of ag law enforcement in boats on roads and pastures looking for animals. This is tough.

We have a 3k dollar match offer!! Donations between yesterday until november 15th will be matched up to 3k. So if we raise 500, she matches 500. If we raise 3100 she matches to the 3000. This will allow us to get EVERYTHING!! 5 pallets of food, pallet of pine pellets, pallet of shavings, hay, straw and between this and previous donations we can also pay off our vet bill!! This match will save us. Please please please, help us reach this!

Mccaysville and copperhill are again flooded. Storm last night seemed to never stop. Ponds super high, creek behind the house is raging, the barn... dry!!!

When id seen rain was coming id used a shovel then switched to the tractor to remove about 6 inches of dirt on the side of the barn I let everyone out. Then drenched about a foot wide all down it to make it so the water never reached the top of their floor. And it worked! So while emergency alerts were hitting the phone over and over on flooding, everyone here stayed nice and dry and also means it's not a job I need to tackle today. Im so relieved! Now let's hope there's no issue with cities water again lol

Here we go again lol. Yeaterday I made trenches to keep water out of the barn. Find out in morning if it worked. If it's not one thing it's another but such is life. It's all about problem solving and continuing on

Meet Petunia!

We got a call about this gorgeous girl tonight - she'd been hanging out behind an apartment complex for several days, and the finder was concerned because not only was there no water source and no other ducks, but something looked off about the wing.

We showed up and quickly located her, but she kept running just out of reach and flying low across the grass. The little lady finally hopped up on a ledge by an AC unit and ran into a corner railing that she couldn't squeeze through, so we were able to just reach down and grab her. A quick exam explained the wing issues - they'd been clipped. 😡

Yup, this beautiful babe was someone's pet who was just dumped out and left to fend for herself. Huge thanks to Bri for caring enough to call us and get this sweetheart some help! She's now warm and safe with plenty of fresh water and food. 💕
