The first food, clothing, and footwear distribution of 2026 took place on January 27th at the Relief Foundation and their partner organization in ΕΛΕΘΣΥ’s headquarters, in partnership with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society. This distribution also coincided with the cutting of the new year’s pita, which was attended by the Greek-American musician Stavros Theodorou. The traditional lucky coin ended up in the piece doled out to the offices.

The packages contained pasta, rice, flour, oil, barley, milk, and more. In addition to the basic food items, they were enriched with vegetables like green beans, peas, and spinach - complements of Barba Stathis - and butter provided by Ariston, among others. Around 210 packages were distributed, primarily to large families and individuals.

The distribution took place under the guidance of Ms. Maria Siourdi, accompanied by volunteers Antonia Pantouvaki, Soula Belli, Yannis Lambrou, and Fotis Panagiotakopoulos.

During the distribution, a British couple who live in also visited with their baby. They donated 4 packages of clean clothes for adults and children in good condition. Ms. Siourdi, in a gesture of kindness and philanthropy in turn, offered a pair of new shoes for their little one.

Corporate sponsors for this distribution, and others past, included the N. Konstantopoulou Group, Agrovim, the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, Food Bank, Loulis Mills, Barba-Stathis, FreislandCampina, and other individuals.

Finally, during the days of slight snow but bitter cold in Athens, blankets, sandwiches, and hot drinks were provided to the unhoused near the headquarters.

The HRF and its partner organization ΕΛΕΘΣΥ wish that this new year brings us all health, prosperity, and the strength to continue their work.

Διανεμήθηκαν 387 πακέτα τροφίμων, σε ωφελούμενους σε Αθήνα, Πειραιά, ενώ τρόφιμα δόθηκαν και στην Εκκλησία της Αγίας Αικατερίνης Πετραλώνων δια χειρός Πατήρ Ζαφειρίου, στην εκκλησία Μεταμόρφωση Σωτήρος στην Καλληθέα δια χειρός πατήρ Σιωσίου, στο Ταμείο Αλληλοβοήθειας Συνταξιούχων Ηθοποιιών Ελλάδος (ΤΑΣΕΗ), στο Μερόπειο Ίδρυμα, στο Χριστοδούλιο Ίδρυμα, στο Εργαστήρι που φροντίζει άτομα με δεξιότητες, και σε 10 οικογένειες στο χωριό των Μικρασιατών στην Κηφισιά.

Σε αυτή τη διανομή σημαντική ήταν η προσφορά των ομογενών από την κοινότητα του Αγίου Γεωργίου στο Κλίφτον της Νέας Ιερσέης, τις Θυγατέρες της Πηνελόπης – Τμήμα «Κρόνος» #188 (District 5), και των AHEPA DISTRICT 25, HJ-38 «Φαληρεύς» Π. Φάληρο, HJ-04 «Σόλων» Χαλάνδρι, HJ-09 «Θεμιστοκλής» Πειραιάς, HJ-02 Γλυφάδα, και HJ-55 «Θουκυδίδης» Άλιμος.

Επίσης σημαντική ήταν και η προσφορά των χορηγών μας όπως του Ομίλου Ν. Κωνσταντόπουλου (Κηδαλίων ΑΤΕ), ΑΓΡΟΒΙΜ, Καμηλάρης ΑΕΒΕ, Καραμολέγκος, Μπαρμπα- Στάθης, FrieslandCampina, Τράπεζα Τροφίμων, ‘Ομιλος Χαρισιάδη, Μύλοι Λούλης, Tottis Bingo, Β Λαική Αγορά Αθηνών, Μέλισσα-Κίκιζας και AVS Services (Outsourcing Solutions.)

Οικονομικά στήριξαν στην εορταστική διάθεση τροφίμων ο Όμιλος Ν. Κωνσταντόπουλου, ο Θωμάς Δοξιάδης, οι εθελόντριες Αντωνία Παντουβάκη και Σούλα Μπέλη με την αγορά 100 ζευγών υποδημάτων και πολλές εθελόντριες της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ.

Our Christmas distribution!
387 food packages were distributed to beneficiaries in Athens and Piraeus, with additional food parcels delivered to various organizations, including the Church of St. Catherine of Petralona - under Fr. Zafirios, the Church of the Transfiguration - under Fr. Siosios, the Mutual Assistance Fund of the Association of Greek Actors (TAΣEΗ), the Meropeio Nursing Home of Athens, and the Christodoulio Orphanage, a workshop for people with special needs, and 10 families from the “Asia Minor Village” in Kifissia.

The Christmas distribution was also made possible from notable contributions by the community of St. George in Clifton, NJ, the Daughters of Penelope Kronos Chapter #188 (District 5), and AHEPA District 25, HJ-38 Phalereus (P. Faliro), HJ-4 Solon (Halandri), HJ-9 Themistocles (Piraeus), HJ-2 Glyfada, and HJ-55 Thucydides (Alimos.)

Crucial contributions from our sponsors included the N.
