On July 20th and 21st, amid a heat wave, the annual distribution of food, clothing, and footwear took place at the facilities of Volunteer Support (ΕΛΕΘΣΥ), the representative in of Hellenic Relief Foundation🇬🇷🇺🇸 (HRF).

Day One: An Honored Guest from Canada
The first day was dedicated to the contribution of Mr. Anastasios Moussas, President of AHEPA Canada, who attended the distribution together with his wife and expressed his admiration for the work carried out by Hellenic Relief Foundation🇬🇷🇺🇸 and their partner organization in Greece, in cooperation with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society. Also present at the distribution was ΕΛΕΘΣΥ’s honorary president, Ms. Saki Kyprea. Mr. Moussas announced that he will continue his support through the end of the year and increase it in the new year. We extend our sincere gratitude to him for his generosity and compassion.

The following AHEPA chapters took part in organizing the effort, contributing a total of 14 bundles of clothing for distribution:

HJ-09 “Themistocles” (Piraeus)
HJ-17 “Hephaestus” (Vari, Voula, Vouliagmeni)
HJ-38 “Phalereus” (P. Faliro)
HJ-55 “Thucydides” (Alimos)
The chapters were represented by Sotirios Loïs (President) and Makarios Efpraxiadis (Vice President) for Piraeus; Aristeidis Grivas (President) for Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni; and Georgios Sarafoglou (former President) for Alimos.

On June 24th and 25th, the Hellenic Relief Foundation and their partner organization in ΕΛΕΘΣΥ conducted their monthly distribution at their Athens headquarters, in partnership with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society and AHEPA. The packages contained pasta, rice, flour, barley, oil, milk, chicken cut into pieces, and more. Around 320 packages were distributed, primarily to underprivileged families and individual beneficiaries.

The distribution took place under the guidance of Ms. Maria Siourdi, director of the H.R.F’s partner organization ΕΛΕΘΣΥ, alongside volunteers Yannis Lambrou, Fotis Panagiotakopoulos, and Ms. Poly Kalfopoulou and in the presence of Mr. Panagiotis Boutsis from the SAP Organization, which donated four 17 liter tins of oil and two crates of vegetables. In addition to the basic food items, the monthly packages were enriched with vegetables from Barba Stathis, butter provided by Ariston, chicken, and more.

Corporate sponsors for this distribution, and others past, included the N. Konstantopoulou Group, Agrovim, the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, Food Bank, Loulis Mills, Barba-Stathis, Alpiland, Karamolegos, Hermes Harisiadis SA, AHEPA, and the SAP Organization.

Looking ahead, the Hellenic Relief Foundation will be hosting a dinner dance gala celebrating 15 years since the group’s founding, honoring AHEPA, and benefiting the Christmas food donation program on October 11th at The Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ. On May 14th and 15th, the and their partner organization in ΕΛΕΘΣΥ conducted their monthly distribution at their Athens headquarters, in partnership with the Social Committee of the Society and AHEPA. The packages contained pasta, rice, flour, barley, oil, milk, pork, and more. Around 220 packages were distributed, primarily to underprivileged families and individual beneficiaries, including 10 packages for the police pension fund received by the group’s president, Mr. George Kaliakmanis.

The distribution took place under the guidance of Ms. Maria Siourdi, director of the H.R.F’s partner organization ΕΛΕΘΣΥ, alongside volunteers Yannis Lambrou and Fotis Panagiotakopoulos, and in the presence of Mr. Evgenios Bardis from , which donated the pork. In addition to the basic food items, the monthly packages were enriched with the pork, vegetables like green beans, peas, and spinach - complements of Barba Stathis - butter provided by Ariston, SOFTEX shoes, among others.
