Last Thursday, Su***de Prevention Network was honored to once again receive grant funding from the American Century Championship!

We are incredibly grateful for their continued generosity and commitment to supporting our mission year after year. This longstanding partnership allows SPN to maintain and expand our presence throughout Douglas County, with a special focus on reaching individuals and families in the Lake Tahoe community.
Because of community partners like the American Century Championship, we can continue providing su***de prevention education, outreach, and support services to those who need them.

Mental Illness Awareness Week 🤍

Mental illness can affect anyone, and it doesn’t always look the way we expect. This week is a reminder to check in, listen without judgment, challenge stigma, and help create a community where asking for support is okay.

💜 September has ended, but su***de prevention continues...every day, all year.

Throughout Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, Su***de Prevention Network brought our community together to raise awareness, build connections, and remind people they are not alone. The following is just some of our activities. Together, we:

💜 Provided awareness coffee sleeves to local coffee shops to share on their cups.
💜 Received recognition from our County Commissioners through a su***de prevention proclamation.
💜 Sponsored yoga and a sound bath.
💜 Held mental health walks.
💜 Arranged a visit to Healing Arenas for our PTSD group.
💜 Participated in a health fair.
💜 Placed purple ribbons on lampposts throughout Minden and Gardnerville.
💜 Provided awareness flags for sponsoring businesses to display out front.
💜 Offered safeTALK training.
💜 Shared weekly social media videos.
💜 Gave presentations to encourage awareness and understanding.
To every business, community partner, volunteer, sponsor, and participant who helped carry this message, THANK YOU for your support. Each conversation, ribbon, flag, and shared moment helped make caring and connection more visible in our community.

Our September message was STAY. That invitation continues. Stay connected. Keep checking on one another. Keep listening with kindness.
