Friends of the Mims Scottsmoor Library The FRIENDS of the Mims/Scottsmoor Public Library are wonderful volunteers dedicated to promoting the welfare and growth of our library. to our library.

The FRIENDS strive to make the library's many services and programs, as well as its needs, known to the community. We encourage financial gifts and donations of books, DVDs, etc. The FRIENDS conduct membership drives and organize book sales to raise funds to purchase needed items not included in the library's limited budget. Our well-organized and popular FRIENDS "Book and Bake Sales" are held two times a year online and in the library and are open to the public. The impressive general book sales, featuring low-priced books in all categories---including biographies, bestsellers, military, romance, mystery, cookbooks, gardening, and even children's books---are held in the spring and the fall. Books are displayed by categories (topic or author). For the in person sales, signs appear above the sale tables, so it is easy for buyers to find a specific topic or author. Tempting home-baked goods are also offered for sale. Volunteers are always needed before, during, and after book sales. If you wish to donate a few hours two times a year to help set up books for the book sales, to donate baked goods for the sales, to help organize books by author's last name for the sales, or to write a check to support FRIENDS, we welcome your help! To be placed on our mailing list to receive meeting notices and newsletters, fill out the membership form at the library.

Tuesday sessions are from 10:00am-11:00am or 11:00am-12:00pm. One-on-one instruction for the beginner. Topics covered based on the interest of the student: Introduction to Microsoft Word, email or using the internet, and the library catalog. Registration is required.

Summer Fun for Adults! Play Book Bingo at the Mims-Scottsmoor Library for a chance to earn chocolates and a $25 gift card!
***Pick up your bingo card at the library***
Participants must be Brevard County Library card holders and over 13 years old.
All books must be read between June 1, 2026 and July 31, 2026.
Note the title of each book read in the corresponding square, each book may count for only one square.
Show the Bingo card to the Reference Librarian each time you fill in a square and you will get a piece of chocolate (it's square!).
Complete a "bingo" and you will be entered in the bingo gift $25.00 card drawing: 5 squares down, 5 squares across, or 5 squares on the diagonal. For each "bingo" you earn a chance to win!

Need something fun for the little ones? Then join us for a Read Your Way to K playdate Friday mornings at 10:30AM! We'll read, sing, do fingerplays, and have an opportunity to play and socialize with other families! Babies and young toddlers will have fun discovering and enhancing their literacy and language skills as they begin the journey towards kindergarten.
