There’s a proposal for a safe, designated swimming and river access ramp at Milwaukie Bay Park — a space designed for people, not boats. The idea is to make it easier and safer for families, swimmers, and paddlers to actually get into the Willamette and enjoy it.
For a city like Milwaukie, this is a big deal. It means more usable waterfront, more recreation, and a stronger connection to the river that runs through our community.
Right now, Metro’s Community Choice Grant voting is open through June 15. Anyone 11 and older can vote, and the projects that win are chosen by the community.
It only takes a couple minutes to support something that could shape Milwaukie’s riverfront for years.

Share it, pass it along, and help spread the word in Milwaukie — this is one of those rare chances to directly influence what our public spaces look like.
