The CMI Board is excited to welcome two new Board members: Tamara Hawkins and Tim Taylor! Both are residents of Milwaukie and long-time small business owners.

Tamara moved to Milwaukie from Alaska in 2008 and absolutely loves this community! In her spare time Tamara enjoys fiber arts, reading, board games, hiking and traveling. She lives in downtown Milwaukie with her spouse, Jason, and their cat Ophelia.

Tim was raised in Corvallis and went to college at UO where he was a kicker/punter for the Ducks. When he's not working, he loves spending time with his wife, his dog Rocky, and his 1.5-year-old Carter. He lives next to Ball Michel Park, and concerts in the park are one of his favorite parts of the summer!

Tamara and Tim are looking forward to joining CMI and helping to make Milwaukie an even better place to live, work, and play!

CMI is thrilled to announce our newest Board member: Frank Weintraub! Frank is a retired Mechanical Engineer who worked for Bonneville Power Administration for over 20 years designing, refurbishing, and managing high voltage transmission line projects. He and his wife Nancy have lived in Milwaukie for the past 6 years. Frank’s hobbies include vegetable gardening, woodworking, and playing acoustic and electric guitars. Stop by the Info Booth at the Farmers Market this Sunday to say hello to Frank!

Heat wave hours this Sunday (6/27) are 9am to noon!

This Sunday (6/27) the forecast is predicting temperatures as high as 111º!! So, because of the dangers associated with these kinds of temps, we have decided to play it safe and we are opening the market 30 minutes early at 9am, and are closing at 12pm in hopes that you can still get your shopping done but be able to get home (or someplace cool) before the high-point of the day. We still would love to see you, but out of safety for our customers and our vendors, we know this is a smart move. Please be safe and take as much precaution as possible, also, take a moment to check on those more vulnerable in our community and make sure they are safe as well.
