The church in Corinth was divided by power struggles, immorality, pride, and arguments over spiritual gifts. Right in the middle of all of it, Paul points to "the most excellent way"—love.

This week, Pastor Adam talks about how love is the defining mark of Christian faith. Spiritual gifts matter. Biblical truth matters. Serving others matters. But without the self-sacrificing love of God (agape), it is all meaningless.

Imagine going to church, but people are gathering around tables instead of sitting in chairs and it looks more like a restaurant than a church service. They are here for a meal where the wealthy eat their fill, the poor go hungry, some people get drunk, and Jesus has been pushed to the margins. A space that was meant to proclaim hope and the good news of Jesus had become a display of hurt and division. The apostle Paul tells the church that when they gather, they are doing more harm than good.
