Fun Friday Fact: yesterday was Scouting's "Founder's Day" across the world! It honors the legacy of Lord Robert and Lady Olave Baden-Powell whose vision for Scouting inspires our Scouts to live by the Scout Oath, Law and Outdoor Code today.

In case you've never heard of these tenets, here you go!

THE SCOUT OATH:
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

THE SCOUT LAW:
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

THE OUTDOOR CODE:
As an American, I will do my best to –
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.
Be conservation minded.

Happy Birthday to President Teddy Roosevelt! 🇺🇸 (He was actually born on the 27th, but fun facts are more fun to share on the weekend! 😀👍)

Here is a super FUN FACT about President Roosevelt:

The President helped protect wildlife 🦊🐿️🐻 and public lands by creating the United States Forest Service (USFS)🌲🌲🌲.

DID YOU KNOW....this has created 150 national forests, 51 federal bird reserves, 4 national game preserves, 5 national parks, and 18 national monuments and has protected over 230 MILLION acres of public land that we all get to enjoy today! (Especially in Scouts!⚜️🏔️🥾)

Here's a fun fact: when you Scout with us, families and Cub Scout packs like ours get exclusive access to go camping at our incredible Camp Clark on the Oregon Coast! You can't beat 2.5 miles of secluded coastline, incredible tidepools, the quiet forest (well, except when we're singing around the campfire!) and so much more!
