Behind the scenes on what it takes to build a new school.

We are almost done with the school, and the school is being used already. Next putting the flouring then the desks.

Our next Fundraiser is April 18th, 2026.

Donor / Supporter Update

Dear Friends,

We received incredible news from the headmaster in Bazario, and it is something worth celebrating.

This year, nearly 900 children have registered to attend school in the village. That is 400 more students than last year.

The community is amazed by the increase, and everyone agrees on the reason: the new school building.

When families saw a safe and proper place for their children to learn, they showed up.

This is exactly why Firmina Foundation does this work.

But with this incredible growth comes a new challenge. With so many students now attending, the school needs more desks and classroom furniture. Providing individual desks for every child will be difficult with such large numbers, so the school is planning to build shared desks that can seat three students at a time, allowing them to rotate between morning and afternoon classes.

Nine hundred children walking through the doors of a school that did not exist before.

That is what community support can do.

And this is only the beginning.

Thank you for helping make this possible.

Sometimes the adversity we face isn’t political. It isn’t financial. It’s nature.

Heavy rains. Flooded land. Teacher homes destroyed by weather.

These are the realities in the rural villages where Firmina Foundation builds schools. Our teachers stay on site during the week, away from their families, committed to educating children in communities that have been overlooked for generations. When the weather hits, it doesn’t just damage buildings — it disrupts stability, safety, and dignity.

This is why we don’t just build classrooms.

We will build strong structures.
We will build teacher compounds.
We build safe spaces that can withstand floods and serve as community refuge when disaster strikes — just like our first school did when families lost their huts and needed shelter.

Education is not just about books. It’s about infrastructure. It’s about Sometimes the adversity we face isn’t protection. It’s about long-term community resilience.

And this is why the work of Firmina Foundation matters.

Because when we build, we build to last.

A year ago, we completed ✅ our first of many projects.

What began as a small school with just 13 students has now grown to serve more than 520 students. Today, it includes expanded nutrition programs, secondary education, and even a trade school on site—creating real pathways for young people to learn, grow, and build a future in their own community.

During recent floods, the school became more than a place of learning. It became a safe haven—providing food distribution and shelter for families whose homes were washed away. The structure was built for education, but it now stands as a pillar of resilience and hope for the entire village.

Through Firmina Foundation (Firmina Foundation), our mission is simple and powerful: invest in education, strengthen communities, and create opportunities where they are needed most. We don’t just build schools—we help build stability, dignity, and long-term change led by the community itself.

And we’re not done. The second school in a neighboring village is almost complete.
Come join us on our next Fundraiser on April 18th.

The Founders Voice from a recent podcast she shared....

I still remember standing in a rural village where children were learning under a tree because there was no classroom yet.

Months later, walking back into that same community and watching those children step into a school we helped build — laughing, carrying notebooks, full of possibility — I realized this work was bigger than fundraising. It was about restoring hope.

Are you a small business?

Good. You’re exactly who we’re looking for.

Some of the most powerful impact comes from small businesses who choose to give back intentionally—not because they have to, but because it aligns with who they are.

You don’t need to be a big corporation to make a difference. Our partners support Firmina Foundation in ways that fit their values and capacity—through sponsorship, monthly giving, in-kind services, event support, or collaborative storytelling.

Every partnership helps build classrooms, support communities, and strengthen futures.

We believe in relationship over transaction. Our partners are acknowledged, celebrated, and woven into the story of the impact they help create—locally and globally.

If you’re a business owner who believes success includes giving back and building something meaningful beyond profit, let’s talk.
