Legacy That Will Continue to Live in Tengua ❤️🌍
My Uncle Becca was born and raised in the village of Tengua, Mozambique. His father was the Chief of Tengua, so this village was deeply woven into who he was.
When war forced him to flee Mozambique, he eventually found asylum and built a new life in Victoria, British Columbia. But even though he lived thousands of miles away, he never forgot where he came from.
He stayed connected to Tengua. He continued to believe in his village, encourage his people, and hold onto a vision that the children there deserved greater opportunities—especially through education.
Years later, his niece, the Founder of Firmina Foundation, received an invitation to come to Tengua and help with a school project.
What started as a vision became something we could touch.
Today, a school stands in Tengua.
Children who once had limited access to classrooms now have a place to learn, grow, dream, and imagine a different future.
On August 8th, 2026, Uncle Becca passed away in Malawi. 🇲🇼💔
As our family grieves his passing, I keep thinking about legacy.
Sometimes a person’s greatest impact isn’t something they get to carry with them—it is something they leave behind for others to carry forward.
The school in Tengua is part of Uncle Becca’s legacy.
His love for the village where he was born.
His hope for better education.
His belief in the next generation.
Long after we say goodbye, children will continue walking through those classroom doors.
And perhaps that is one of the most beautiful ways a life continues.

Your vision lives on in Tengua.
Your village remembers you.
