A major portion of FoodRight’s funding ends September 30.

We’re proud to share that new grants and donors are already helping us build a more sustainable future... but there’s still work to do.

🌞 School's out, but the learning (and cooking!) doesn't have to stop.

Join us for Family Cookshop on June 17th and spend an afternoon growing, cooking, and connecting together.

Families will get hands-on in the kitchen, learn practical nutrition and cooking skills, and enjoy a delicious and healthy recipe everyone can help create.

Whether your child is a confident chef or brand new to cooking, Family Cookshop is a fun, welcoming space to try new foods, build confidence, and make memories together. 💚

We believe healthy eating starts with connection—to food, to community, and to the people and places that grow our food. That's why our programs go beyond recipes. Students learn where food comes from, how to prepare it, why it matters for their health, and how their choices can support a stronger local food system.

By connecting young people to cooking, gardening, local food, and nutrition education, we're helping build a future where healthy, sustainable food is accessible, valued, and enjoyed by all.

This National Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Month, FoodRight is celebrating the power of healthy food education while facing a major turning point.

At the end of September, the SNAP-Ed funding that supports approximately 75% of our programming will end.

The good news: thanks to new grants, donors, and community support, FoodRight is building a stronger future. But we still need help closing the gap so students can continue learning hands-on cooking and nutrition skills for years to come.

Happy birthday to the woman who started it all! 💚

Without Lisa, there is no FoodRight.

For more than a decade, her vision, determination, and belief in the power of food education have helped over 10,000 Milwaukee students build cooking skills, try new foods, and develop healthy habits that last a lifetime.

The impact she's had on our community is impossible to measure—though we've certainly tried in our annual reports (now live on our website)! Her dedication to creating a healthier Milwaukee and a stronger local food system inspires us every day.

Please join us in wishing Lisa the happiest of birthdays. We hope she's celebrating, relaxing, and taking a well-deserved break today! 🥕✨

June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, a celebration we happily honor all year long at FoodRight!

While our MPS cooking classes have wrapped up for the school year, we're still cooking all summer long—and we'd love for you to join us.
