Guitars for Vets Clarksburg WV We are a 501(c)(3) non profit that enhances the lives of ailing and injured military veterans by providing them with free guitar lessons

Guitars for Vets provides a unique form of music therapy in close collaboration with professionals from the Veterans Administration. Approver volunteers provide veterans free instruction and each Veteran receives a free guitar upon completion of 10 lessons. Through self-expression and the Healing Power of Music , it is our intent to restore the feelings of joy and purpose that can be lost after suffering trauma.

Hello all!! Here we are ending 2016 and once again I want to thank all of the Instructors Students and Supporters of Guitars 4 Vets Clarksburg WV. It has been a joy to work with all of those involved with our little group and you all need to know that nothing we have done would have been possible without your support. We have done many things but most of all we have become a group of Veteran who care about each other and other Veterans in our area. I hope that each of you have a very Happy Holiday and look forward to starting the new year much as we ended 2016.

Well we did it. Man what a night!! For those of you who braved the weather and came out for G4V Clarksburg WV 1st Annual Music Festival I Hope you enjoyed the show. The Crowd was small but the music was great. I want to thank all of the groups that took part in the show and all of the G4V Folks who helped to put it together and make it a great night. We didn't raise much money (we just broke even) but we had a great time and are looking forward to trying this again. LETSGO MOUNTAINEERS

Well Here we are. In about 11 hours G4V Clarksburg will begin the First Annual Music Festival at Morgantown High School and we can really use your help. We need to try to fill the Auditorium with music lovers. We have a little of everything and I promise you will really enjoy our line up. While you are thinking about weather to come or not please remember that all the funds raised go to putting guitars in the hands of Veterans. Well all. In three days G4V Clarksburg WV will celebrate it's 1 year anniversary. It has been a very good year and things look bright for the future here. We still need your help! Most people have vary little idea how PTSD can effect those who live with it and those who live with those who have it. The hurt, frustration,anxiety and pain that come with this disorder can make everyday things seem gigantic and life in it's self hard to deal with. Music is a way that can help those who are effected by this terrible disorder to out of there bad places and into something that may give them enjoyment. Our mission at Guitars 4 Vets is to give them the tools to use music as there own therapeutic tool. We don't do therapy and we can't help everyone but one is better then none.We as West Virginian's have a long proud history of service to our country and we all know someone who has served. I am told that 22 veterans commit su***de each day and I believe that we can make that number go down by reaching out to these men and women and helping them help them self. By giving them something as simple as a guitar and showing them how to play it they will be able to leave the troubles they have if only long enough for them to work through them. Our Music Festival is not just going to be a great musical event but it will help us to Put the Healing Power of Music in the Hands of Heroes.The power that music has is overlooked and under use. Music can still the mind and calm t6he heart. Please come out and help us on April 9th at Morgantown High School. We have room for 1000 and ticket will be available at the door. Hay all you Music Lovers. In ks we will hold out First Annual Music Festival in the MHS Auditorium on April 9th at 7pm and what a show it will be!!! We have Bluegrass, Jazz, Steel Drums, Guitars of all sort, Rock and Roll, You name it it will be there and all for just $20. You also get a chance at winning a brand new guitar and we are raffling of a Electric Guitar and a Amp, Tools and a whole lot of food from Buffalo Wild Wings to 2 meals at the Outback Steak House and many more. All to raise money to put new guitars in the hand of Veterans who are struggling with PTSD and other issue they have from serving our country. Please come out and enjoy a great show and help us to Put the Healing Power of Music in the Hands of our Mountaineer Heroes. LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS

We have just 19 days before our Music Festival at Morgantown High School and there is a lot of room left for all you Music lovers who want to help a really good program continue to serve the Veterans in our area. I want to make a special invitation to all my Watman Barb and MHS classmates. We need your help. I know that many are gone and some have moved away but there are still enough of us left to fill a few rows at MHS so come on out and enjoy a real good show and help us help those who have served our nation and Put the Healing Power of Music in the Hand of Heroes on April 9th. Hello all. We have just 3 weeks left until the bis night in Morgantown and man are we excited. But people we need your help to make this work!! We have the Venue, We have the Music, We have the volunteers, and We have the Tickets. Now all we need is a audience. That's were you come in Mountaineer Nation. We really need your help with this. Our line up is great and ticket are available to see a show like this anywhere else it would cost at least $50.00 and you have no door prize. Our tickets are $20.00 and you have a chance to win a new guitar as well as supporting a really great cause. We will have a great deal of things to be raffled off and we really hope that we can fill the Morgantown High Auditorium with music loving Mountaineers to help us Put the Healing Power of Music in the Hands of our Mountaineer Heroes. Man I can't believe it. In two weeks G4V Clarksburg will Graduate it's fourth class and on April 3 be a year old. What a year. On April 9th 2016 we will host our 1st annual music festival at Morgantown High School at 7pm. It is going to be a blast. We have the Morgantown Steele Drum Band WVU, Jazz Band, WVU Jazz Guitars, WVU Guitar Ensemble, WVU Bluegrass Band and much more. We have ticket on sale now and at the door. Please come out and help us Put the Healing Power of Music In the Hands of our Mountaineer Heroes. We can use your help Mountaineer Nation all proceeds go to G4V and will help us put Guitars in the hands of Veterans who have served our nation and need help dealing with the effects of there service. The su***de rate among our Veterans is higher then ever and growing everyday. We know we can't help them all but if we can give them music and hope maybe we can help some and some is better then none. Please come out and support Guitars 4 Vets. IT REALLY WORKS.

Well with all the snow and all the things I have had going on I have not been able to give you all an update on our little group so here we go. We started our forth class on Friday January 15th instead of the 8th and then on the 22nd we got snowed out. But we are right back at it. Our advance guys and gals are kickin butt. We have so much happening its hard to keep up. On Friday the 5th of February WBOY is doing a story on us for the Monday Music show. That night we will be working with the Gathering of Mountain Eagles again.(we are hoping that this becomes a regular event as we all enjoy it very much). We are working hard to get ready for April 9th and are looking forward to a great night of music. We need your help to make this work for us so please contact one of us for tickets. We know there are a lot of mountaineers out there that want to support us and this will help in a big way as well as giving you a great night of wonderful music. LET GO MOUNTAINEERS
