88Nine's Fall Ball is BACK on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026!

Serious people doing unserious things: that's what happens every year at the 88Nine Fall Ball. What starts with drinks and bites on the rooftop turns into an all-out "Karaoke for a Cause" party featuring community leaders performing on stage with a live band.

We need food to fuel our dancing, so this year's Fall Ball will include snacks from DanDan, Chucho's Red Tacos, The New Fashioned Grilled Cheese Company, Dastardly Dogs and more.

➡ Get your tickets today at RadioMilwaukee.org/FallBall

The 88Nine Fall Ball is sponsored by Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., American Family Insurance - Koshick & Associates, von Briesen & Roper, Broken Bat Brewery, Ellenbecker Investment Group, Laffey Leitner & Goode, Milwaukee Turners and Associated Bank.

They’ve stood through crashing waves and silent nights. Wisconsin’s lighthouses are more than landmarks. They’re storytellers in steel and stone. 🌊🕯️

At the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay, these legends are brought to life with tales of shipwrecks, lake lore and the legacy of those who kept the lights burning. It’s a journey through time and tide, perfect for anyone craving a slower pace and a deeper sense of place.

Let the lake lead the way.

- At the corner of 6th & Howard, in the Garden District, is a shared garden that brings together community, sustainability, innovation, and beautification.

The Garden District Community Garden is a local hub where anyone can grow food, share gardening tips and more.

One of the Community Garden’s clients is the Milwaukee nonprofit Centers For Independence (CFI), which supports people with disabilities and behavioral health needs through innovative programming. Nearly 70 CFI clients help with weeding, watering, planting, harvesting and delivering produce. That food is donated to local food pantries or sold at farmer’s markets and restaurants like Goodkind in Bay View.

“That’s really important to us,” said Katie Rose, co-owner of Goodkind. “I know exactly who [the produce] came from and where it came from...I know the love and care that goes into it.”

“Teenage S*x and Death at Camp Miasma” is the latest film from writer/director Jane Schoenbrun, starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.

“After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.” [via Milwaukee Film]

Following horror-comedy films like “Evil Dead II,” “Shaun of the Dead” and “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil,” “Camp Miasma” uses horror wrapping paper around a gift that’s about more than jump scares and blood-streaked faces.

Our Cinebuds’ review covers everything from the film’s subtle messages communicated by sour candy to the unexpected role Counting Crows play in the movie’s campy climax.

➡️ Listen to the full episode of Cinebuds at RadioMilwaukee.org or wherever you get your podcasts.

🍿 “Teenage S*x and Death at Camp Miasma” is playing at the Oriental Theatre through Thursday, Sept. 3.
