The Jazz Institute at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce the creation of the Wisconsin Conservatory Jazz Festival. This exciting new event will provide middle and high school students with valuable opportunities to strengthen their ensemble and performance skills, and deepen their enthusiasm for jazz. The Festival will feature performance and clinic sessions, workshops and

master classes on topics such as improvisation, section playing, jazz style and more, as well as jam sessions and opportunities to listen to, talk with, and even jam with professional jazz artists. The schedule is designed to ensure that all participants have a great experience, whether your group is able to come for one day or for the entire Festival. The highlight to the Festival will be the chance to hear and hang out with Grammy award winners, saxophonist PHIL WOODS, and trumpeter BRIAN LYNCH. Both will perform with the Conservatory’s renowned jazz sextet, WE SIX, Friday evening, March 20. And all of these great jazz educators will be active in the entire festival

Interested band directors should download and submit the Registration form as soon as possible. You may contact us with any questions by calling Nancy Herro, WCM Jazz Festival Manager at 414-276-5760 ext. 380 or via email at [email protected].
