On Sept 27th we held our last regatta of the season. Rescheduled due to gale force winds earlier in the month, the weather finally cooperated. Although the morning looked light, the wind built on the water to a steady 7-10 knots from the north. It was perfect weather to finish off the season, with the sun shimmering on the water and a cool breeze coming in.

We were able to get three action packed races in with changing positions throughout the fleets.

What a night for a movie! 🎥 MCSC members enjoyed our first outdoor movie night at the dock house last week, watching Untold: The race of the century. The weather cooperated, and it was a beautiful night to be outside.

The days are getting shorter, the sailing season is winding down, and it’s the perfect time to batten down the hatches and pick up a good book!

On Sept 17, J/24 sailors gathered to celebrate another successful Thursday night series. Hot dogs were enjoyed, stories were shared, and sailors got to put faces to the boats they’d been racing against all summer.

This season, 16 boats took to the water as a part of our fleet, including seven Sailing Center boats. Despite weather challenges (fog, anyone?), we completed 12 races throughout the season. As always, it was an exciting and competitive series that kept Race Committee on the edge of our seats right to the very last week.

Final results:
*🏆️ First place: Joe McBride on Aurora
*🏆️ Second place: Colleen Fessler and Spencer Rode on Wildcard
*🏆️ Third place: Connor Roberson, Liv Lampone, Erika Carne, Josh Kozwolski, and Brian Bell (first time a Sailing Center team made it onto the podium!)

We also awarded flags to the top three Sailing Center race team leaders:
*🏆️First place: Connor Roberson
*🏆️Second place: John Krehnovi
*🏆️Third place: Peter Heath

💙A huge thank-you goes out to our Race Committee team which includes:
-Jason Fellows, our talented and knowledgeable mark-set boat skipper
