This past Sunday, we finally hosted our rescheduled mid-season regatta. We had 21 boats racing across most of the MCSC fleet, including Ensigns, Solings, J24s, Lasers, Catalina 14.2s, 420s and Lightnings. It proved to be a beautiful yet tricky day for racing with a puffy and shifty north (sometimes north-east, north-west, or just west?) wind. Racers rose to the challenge, and our centerboard fleet completed one race before heading in due to rising wind conditions. Our keelboats got in one more quality race for the day, with changing positions throughout the legs. It was a competitive fleet, with high quality sailing done by all.
🦆Champions enjoyed receiving their very own prize duck (wearing sunglasses of course).
Huge thanks to Caron Dean who handcrafted our prize flags using recycled spinnaker fabric, as well as Ash and Mark for their excellent services as race committee and later chase boat.
