Our Horticulture Apprentices have been BUSYYY this summer 🌱

They’ve been all over the place learning, growing, and trying new things. From growing fresh veggies and getting them out to local food pantries, to kayaking, learning about water systems, and representing TGG at the Urban Ecology Center while sharing more about what we do.

So much hands on learning, new experiences, and growth has happened this summer and they’ve definitely been keeping busy while doing it. 💚 ps stay tuned there is so much more to come with webers opening up in the fall !!!

📣 YOU’RE INVITED to TGG Marketing Apprenticeship GALLERY NIGHT 🌱📸🫶

Announcing a showcase of 🌻 Teens Grow Greens 🌻 Marketing Apprentices’ storytelling and photo & video work at a gallery night Wed. 9/18 at Arts @ Large

We’ll be featuring the work of seven apprentices from storytelling endeavors with TGG and community partners at large with a photo gallery, screenings of their video work, and featuring their portfolios, music, and snacks!

This is an open door event. We ask all invitees (students interested in digital media and storytelling highly encouraged) to stop by between the hours of 5:30pm - 8pm on Sept 18.

The gallery will also be open to the public starting 9/8 Tues - Sat, 9am - 2pm during A@L regular cafe and gallery hours.

We’d love for you to invite anyone from your circles or communities that you think would be interested. These folks have gained a ton of experience and told many stories this year and we’re super proud to show off their artistry.

The Garden interns at Walnut Hill have been hard at work and the space looks transformed!! Working in one of three summer garden sites, the team at Walnut Hill have rebuilt and painted garden beds, planted veggies, herbs, and fruits, built and hung 10 birdhouses, beautified the street signage, and much more! And in only 8 weeks!

🌻 Teens Grow Greens 🌻 Marketing Apprentices were asked to join Rotary Club of Milwaukee scholars for their reception at Discover Milwaukee | Jordan & Todd and provide student and alumni headshots. We were very grateful for the opportunity!

We loved collaborating with Teens Grow Greens at our recent Summer Scholar Gathering, where their talented teen interns gained hands-on photography experience taking professional headshots for our Rotary Club of Milwaukee scholars and alumni. Thank you to the Teens Grow Greens team for empowering local youth while helping our scholars put their best foot forward!

A huge thank you to all of our guest interviewers, mentors, and community partners who made this event possible.

Presented by the Bucks Community Mock² brought together Teens Grow Greens apprentices and local professionals for mock interviews in career fields they’re interested in pursuing. These conversations helped build confidence, create meaningful connections, and prepare our young people for what’s next.

We took their digital work from our studio portrait sessions and made a hand-on experience to showcase our team’s many talents behind the camera AND in the physical space. The results are STUNNING! 🌱📸🫶
