Set Sail for Adventure: June 15 – August 14, 2026

The SSYC Junior Sailing Program gives youth in the greater Milwaukee area the chance to learn sailing on beautiful Lake Michigan, a life-long skill that builds confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Whether your child is just starting out or ready to race, our program offers classes for every skill level, taught by experienced US Sailing certified instructors. Many of our instructors grew up in the program themselves!

What You Will Learn

Our sailors don’t just learn to sail, they create friendships and have a lot of fun! Depending on your child’s class, they will:

Rig and handle sailboats like a pro
Learn sailing and nautical terminology
Tie knots and manage boat rigging
Read wind, waves, and water currents
Build confidence in and around the water
Develop teamwork, crew collaboration, and leadership skills
Practice racing tactics and championship-level techniques

Who Can Register

Youth ages 8–18
Beginner sailors welcome, no experience required
Parents or guardians do not need to be SSYC members and boat ownership is not required
Membership in the SSYC Junior Program is automatically enrolled at registration.
