HKBT Helping Kids Better Themselves HKBT & The Missing Peace Summer Experience Camp had an amazing time at Rooted & Rising’s 6th Annual Back to School Pop-Up & Youth Resource Fair! 🎒📚✨

Our campers enjoyed an afternoon filled with fun, helpful resources, community connections, and excitement for the upcoming school year.

A very special thank-you to Jessie and the entire Rooted & Rising team for inviting us and providing our campers with bookbags filled with school supplies! Your generosity helped make sure our youth are prepared, confident, and ready to start the new school year successfully.

We truly appreciate your kindness, partnership, and continued commitment to supporting young people and families in our community. It takes a village to help our youth thrive, and we are grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up for them! 💙💚

We’ve been having an exciting and meaningful summer with Helping Kids Better Themselves (HKBT) and The Missing Peace Summer Experience Camp! Our youth have been learning, growing, building friendships, and gaining valuable life lessons along the way.

We recently welcomed Mr. Compton from 414 Life, who spoke with our youth about gun safety, making responsible choices, and protecting themselves and others. The conversation gave our campers a safe space to ask questions, share their thoughts, and understand the serious impact that guns can have on individuals, families, and our community.

A huge thank you to Mr. James Brooks (Compton) and 414 Life for taking the time to educate and connect with our youth. Experiences like this are what the Summer Experience is all about having fun while developing leadership, awareness, confidence, and the tools needed to make positive decisions.

Due to unexpected flooding in our building, our food pantry is temporarily closed. The safety of our community, staff, and volunteers is our top priority, and we are working diligently to assess the damage and restore operations as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. Updates regarding reopening will be shared as soon as they are available.
