On tomorrow, check out the Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger Program and earn a newly redesigned patch upon completion of the program!

Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Eagle Scouts can earn a recognition certificate and a special patch for completing 1️⃣0️⃣ hours of service in national parks as a participant in the program. Scouts can participate in educational and volunteer service projects through a troop, event, travel, or 🏕️ camp experience at national park sites.

Examples of qualifying organized educational programs include the following:

🤠 Ranger-guided interpretive tours

🤠 Junior Ranger programs

🤠 Any other official NPS education program (campfire program, ranger-led hike, etc.)

Good Afternoon Friends of Scouting the Zoo!

We are now ready to start the 2026 animal reveal via our annual guessing game!

Over the next few days we will be posting various clues relating to this years featured animal. We will make a big reveal on Friday November 21 at 3pm.

Follower’s of this page are invited to make three total guesses out of all the posts and, besides bragging rights, we will be offering a prize to those who guess the 2026 animal correctly. The winners will be pulled via random drawing.
We will continue with the clues, even if someone guesses correctly on the first one!
Here are the game rules:

Rule #1
We will be releasing a new clue daily through Friday November 21.

Rule #2
Each follower will be allowed up to three guesses throughout the entire game.

Rule #3
Clues will continue regardless if a guess is correct.

Rule #4
You can post a comment on the Facebook post(s) with your guess!
(we will be watching the comments very closely)

Popcorn Take Order distribution is this week, and volunteer support will make the process smooth and successful.

We are seeking volunteers to assist with sorting popcorn on Thursday, Nov. 6 (8am- 2pm)📦 and helping with distribution on Friday, Nov. 7 (8am-6pm) 🚚.

NEW EXPLORER POST INCOMING! Check it out!

Is your child between 6th grade and 20 years old? Is your child interested in a career in Law Enforcement? If the answer to both of these questions is 'yes', we have an opportunity for you!

The South Milwaukee Police Department is the proud new home to Explorer Post 242 with Scouting America. Exploring is open to all young men and women between 6th grade and 20 years of age. The program offers young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship and patriotism.

On October 2nd 2025, the South Milwaukee Police Department is hosting an Information Night for this new program. We hope you will join us at 7:00 PM at the police department for more information about Exploring and the many exciting opportunities it provides! You will also have the chance to sign up for the Explorer Post at the Information Night. We look forward to seeing you on October 2nd 2025!

Be Prepared... to Run!

Three Harbors Council is hosting a 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, October 25 at Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta. Check-in runs from 7:30 to 8:30 AM (walk-ins welcome until 8:00 AM) with the race starting at 9:00 AM. All proceeds benefit the 2025 Friends of Scouting Campaign. Registrants who sign up before October 1 will receive a t-shirt, and sponsorships are available to support Scouting and the community.
