When Emma Keene started at Oak Ridge Farm three years ago, she had passion but limited farm experience. Through mentorship from supervisor Austin Weber and deliberate practice, like sitting with calves to build trust, Emma transformed into the farmhand lead you see today. The competition is heating up 🔥 Are you ready to level up your game?

Through our high school esports league, Milwaukee Public Schools and Milwaukee Recreation offer new opportunities for high school students to connect with their school community, engage in activities that develop skills for unique career paths, and build new friendships.

Milwaukee Recreation currently offers league play for Rocket League, Mario Kart 8, and Overwatch, with a season-ending tournament for Rocket League.

The fall season runs from Sept. 21 - Nov. 14

Join us for an action-packed day-long camp dedicated entirely to girls and coed flag football! This event is free and open to ages 8-18 on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. If you are looking to try a new sport or further refine your skills, our coaches are ready to help you level up your game. Age Groups:
- Elementary/Middle School: 8-14 years old (Coed)
- High School: 14-18 years old (Girls)

Due to the predicted excessive heat on Wednesday, Sept. 2, the following Milwaukee Recreation programs are canceled:

- Before- & After-School Programs (Child Care Camps, CLCs, & Safe Places)
- Indoor Adult Sports Leagues
- Milwaukee City Conference High School Athletics

Please note: the following Milwaukee Recreation programs are operating as scheduled on Wednesday, Sept. 2:

This fall, all age-eligible teenagers (MPS and non-MPS students alike) are encouraged to register for one of Milwaukee Recreation's driver education programs! Our certified programs will help your new driver earn their temporary permit at an affordable rate.

The MPS Drive program is open to all Milwaukee Public Schools students who will be at least 15 by the first day of class and no older than 17.5 by the final day of class. MPS Drive costs just $35 to cover the temporary permit fee.

The Community-Based Driver Education program is open to all students (MPS and non-MPS) who will be at least 15 by the first day of class and no older than 17.5 by the final day of class. The Community-Based program costs $150 for city of Milwaukee residents and $275 for non-residents.

Online, hybrid, and in-person courses are available for both programs throughout the fall. Visit mkerec.net/drive to learn more and register today!

Milwaukee Recreation will help make it a great school year for you and your child!

This year, Milwaukee Recreation is offering affordable before- & after-school programming at over 90 MPS schools. Programs are available throughout the city for youth from grades K3 through high school. Our Camps, Community Learning Centers, and Safe Places provide young people with academic, recreational, and cultural support, building on the lessons taught during the day.
