Jim Addison is the Coordinator of the African American HIV Program and the Family Fatherhood Coordinator at the Black Health Coalition of WI (BHCW). He has served in this capacity since February of 2000. During his time at the BHCW Jim has been involved in administering Assessments that measure Adverse Childhood Events (ACE), Life Events and Resiliency. These assessments were conducted during Trauma Informed Care Workshops at the Milwaukee County House of Corrections, the Annual Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative Summit and general community outreach by the BHCW.

In 2016 He was certified in Mental Health First Aid through the Nation Council on Behavioral Health. He is also an Associate Elder at the Greater Philadelphia COGIC where he is the President of the Men’s Department and a Sunday School Teacher. Jim also serves on the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative on the Summit Program Committee, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and the Health and Wellness Committee of the Garden Homes Neighborhood. He has served in the US Marine Corps from 1986-1990. Jim is married to Emily his Wife of 29 years and has three children Julien, Jalen and Jacquelyn.

Right now, too many underrepresented people in our state are once again at risk of losing the health care every American deserves because they can't afford insurance. Unless federal marketplace subsidies that expire next year are addressed soon, families across Wisconsin could be paying hundreds of dollars more per month β€” we can't afford for them to lose their coverage.
