AGO Milwaukee Chapter members and vocal ensemble Aperi performed at the 9/11 Songs of Remembrance Concert. Michael Batcho played Langlais: Chant de Paix-Neuf Pièces, Op. 40, and Jongen: Prière, Op. 37. Carlot Dorve, trumpet faculty at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, performed Hovhaness: Prayer of St. Gregory. David Bahrke led the audience of 275 people in the Carl Daw hymn text "O Day of Peace," sung to the Parry setting of JERUSALEM. Lee Erickson performed Barber: Adagio for Strings, Op. 11, transcribed by Wm. Strickland, and closed the program with Alain: Litanies. Aperi

ABC WISN Channel 12 News interviews Dean John Schubring before the 9/11 Songs of Remembrance Concert presented by AGO Milwaukee Chapter at All Saints’ Cathedral. WISN documented the entire concert. Footage will be used in an upcoming documentary to help keep the history alive, especially for people born after September 11, 2001. Aperi

The 9/11 Songs of Remembrance Concert, featuring the All Saints’ Cathedral Bells of Remembrance and Hope, drew 275 people, transfixed by music chosen for the occasion.

Paul Thompson conducted Aperi, the Cathedral Vocal Ensemble In-Residence, and highlighted Joseph Kucharski’s 2007 anthem “Ode of Remembrance,” composed for the dedication of the Bells of Remembrance and Hope. The Bells pealed before and after the anthem. Aperi
